We’re big JBL fans. We like their design and all the pizzazz that comes with their speakers. Particularly, I adore the Pulse series, enjoying the RGB lights synced up with my music. So it’s been quite the excitement when JBL has announced their new Authentics speakers at IFA 2023.
While the Pulse and the PartyBox looked into the future, the Authentics feature a retro-inspired design. Particularly, a callback to JBL’s own ‘70s L100 speaker. There’s a lot of buttons and dials on the JBL Authentics and that’s all part of the charm. They look nice. Simple as that.
There are three JBL Authentics to choose from, the 500, 300, and the 200. The three of them come with multi-room playback, self-tuning, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connections. The Authentics 300, particularly, being the portable option, has replaceable batteries and lasts up to eight hours.
The Authentics 500 supports Dolby Atmos and has an active subwoofer. But all three have plenty of connectivity options from AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and more. In the future, JBL plans to roll out a feature that would connect multiple JBL speakers for stereo and multi-channel surround sound, which sounds really sweet.
What’s another interesting thing for the Authentics is that all three of them support Google Assistant and Alexa at the same time. So this means less tinkering on your part and easy access to either voice assistant that you need.
The JBL Authentics will be available on September 17 in some parts of the world. We’ve yet to confirm if they will arrive in the country any time soon.
