The Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) has announced that it is now accepting nominations for the 42nd Agora Awards. The deadline for the submission of all requirements has been extended to Sept. 15, 2023.
Agora Awards Chairman Law Sibayan shared that they have streamlined the set of awards into two categories—the Luminaries and Enterprise.
“The Luminaries is a set of awards given to individuals who have shown exemplary performance in the fields of education, entrepreneurship, communication, international trade, management, and innovation through effective marketing tools and strategies,” he explained.
Under the Luminaries category are the awards for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Education, Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship (for small, medium, and large-scale enterprises), Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communication, Outstanding Achievement in Overseas Marketing, and Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Management.
“The awards under the Enterprise category, meanwhile, are given to organizations that have shown exemplary performance in the past three years in both select and overall marketing practices. They are awarded to high-performing companies and enterprises that have shown focus on connecting to markets and seizing opportunities toward steady revenue growth year-on-year, with strong returns and sustainability,” Sibayan said.

Two new awards—the Outstanding Marketing School of the Year and the Outstanding Marketing Agency of the Year, are being introduced this year. The Agora Awards Committee earlier announced the new categories during “JAMMxN”, the joint General Membership Meeting of the PMA together with Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, Philippine Association of National Advertisers, Media Specialists Association of the Philippines, Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines, and the Blockchain Council of the Philippines held at the Enderun Tent.
Both awards can be won by the same person and school every year, unlike the other awards, which are lifetime awards.
“It is about time that we give due recognition to the efforts of educational institutions and agencies,” said PMA President Sy Bryan Lato, CPM Asia.
He added that the Marketing School of the Year Award is aligned with the PMA’s vision and mission of producing world-class marketers. The Marketing Agency of the Year Award, meanwhile, is the PMA’s way of recognizing the ideas, efforts, and campaigns of agencies in helping companies grow.
