'Ineng' on its way out of PH; weather to gradually improve, says PAGASA

The weather may gradually improve as tropical depression Ineng exits the country's area of responsibility on Wednesday, Sept. 6, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 11 p.m. bulletin on Tuesday, Sept. 5, PAGASA last located Ineng 1,175 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, moving north-northwestward at 30 kilometers per hour (kph).
It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said Ineng will likely leave the PAR on Wednesday morning.
Although Ineng has no direct effect on the country, it is enhancing the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” which may result in occasional rains over Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan in the next 24 hours.
However, Badrina said the rains caused by the enhanced habagat will be much less frequent than they have been in recent days.
PAGASA still warned of possible floods and landslides in areas affected by the southwest monsoon.
