ABS-CBN issued another statement on the decision of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend "It's Showtime," saying it believed the noontime program did not commit any violation.
The full statement released on Sept. 5:
(We have received the MTRCB ruling ordering the suspension of “It's Showtime” within 12 days from the finality of this decision.)
(We will file a Motion for Reconsideration because we believe no law violation has occurred. While the Motion for Reconsideration is pending, the decision to suspend the program still needs to be finalized and effective. So for now, you can continue to watch "It's Showtime.")
"Patuloy rin kaming makikipag-ugnayan sa MTRCB para makapagpatuloy ang “It’s Showtime” sa paghahatid ng libangan at saya sa minamahal naming Madlang People.
(We will also continue to communicate with MTRCB so that "It's Showtime" can continue to deliver entertainment and fun to our beloved Madlang People.)
(We wholeheartedly thank everyone who loves and supports “It's Showtime.")
On Sept. 4, the MTRCB) announced its decision to suspend the live noontime program “It’s Showtime!” for 12 airing days.
The decision came after viewers have lodged multiple complaints before the MTRCB concerning the show’s July 25, 2023 episode wherein the program’s hosts allegedly acted in an indecent manner during one of its segments, “Isip Bata.”
The said case was referred to the MTRCB’s Hearing and Adjudication Committee which heard the case and required the respondents to submit their position papers, following a procedural process.
