2 drivers hurt as truck collides with PUV in Tondo

Two drivers were injured after a trailer truck collided with a public utility vehicle in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, Sept. 5. 

The Manila Police District-Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-MDTEU) identified the injured truck driver as Marcial Rosadiño and the jeepney driver as Manuelito Bartolome. 

Based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay 123, the trailer truck was traveling along the northbound lane of Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo around 1:45 p.m. 

The footage shows the truck trailer accidentally hit the right side portion of the jeepney that was making a left turn on Moriones Street. 

Due to the impact, the jeepney driver was thrown to the ground, while the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, hitting a concrete post and a house in the area. 

The two drivers sustained injuries and were brought to Gat Andres Memorial Medical Center and Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center. 

Staff Sgt. John Patrick Caranguian said the operators of the vehicles had a settlement agreement and promised to shoulder the cost of damages caused by the accident.
