Operatives of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Galas Station (PS 1) arrested a man for allegedly selling a stolen motorcycle online in Quezon City on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Police identified the suspect as Jan Jeriko Liguid, 29, a resident of Barangay Maysilo, Malabon City.
The PS 11 conducted an operation against the suspect on complaint of the victim, Micovin Pasamonte, who claimed that his motorcycle was stolen in Quezon City last Aug. 30.
Police said the victim saw his stolen motorcycle being sold on a Facebook page for P68,000 on Sept. 2 at around 3:30 p.m.
Pasamonte immediately sought the assistance of PS 11 operatives.
A police officer, who acted as a poseur-buyer, transacted with Liguid, who agreed to met him on Dionisio St. in Barangay Maysilo, Malabon City, around 11 p.m. on the same day.
The operatives went to the location and arrested the suspect after he was positively identified by the victim.
Police confiscated from the suspect the stolen black motorcycle of Pasamonte.
Liguid will be charged for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1612 or the Anti-Fencing Law, police said.
