Councilor Jason Villarosa, representing Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez, and Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, unveiled on Friday, September 1, the re-designed master plan for the multi-million peso development of Northill Parade, which forms part of the 7.5-hectare mixed-use retail and leisure complex inside the Northill Gateway township.

Among the first tenants that will occupy Northill Parade is five first-in-Bacolod international casual dining brands from The Bistro Group that are very popular in the United States. These brands are Denny’s, TGI Friday’s, Randy’s Donuts, Texas Roadhouse, and Olive Garden which will all have alfresco or outdoor dining areas.

This will be the first branches of Randy’s Donuts and Olive Garden outside Metro Manila, Coates said.

“The Bistro Group is excited to bring these American food brands to Bacolod as they’ve seen the big potential of the city as a booming food and culinary destination of Western Visayas,” Coates said.

Coates said that the construction of these developments will begin before the end of this year, adding that Northill Parade is set to open by the second half of 2024.

The 2.4-hectare Northill Parade is a free-standing retail development concept that features a total leasable area of 1.1 hectares.

Aside from The Bistro Group, Coates said that there will be several other food and retail tenants that will be part of this development. Also, the remaining space will be allotted to open spaces, parking, and landscaped pathways.

“Since this township is just along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road and the Bacolod Welcome Marker is just right here, we expect our Northill Parade to be another new tourist destination in this part of Bacolod,” Coates said.

Megaworld also announced that the Upper East Mall, which they revealed in 2019, will start construction next year.

Soon, a fully airconditioned chapel that can accommodate up to 250 people, as well as leisure and institutional components, will also rise inside Northill Gateway to further complement the vibrant lifestyle taking shape in the area.

“We are very excited for all of these new developments of Megaworld here in the City of Smiles,” Coates said.

In 2021, Megaworld opened McDonald’s Forbes Hill, the first-ever McDonald’s NXTGen store in the province, just beside the iconic Bacolod City Welcome Marker.

Currently, there are 20 Megaworld Lifestyle Malls across the country, spearheaded by its flagship developments Eastwood Mall in Quezon City, Uptown Mall and Venice Grand Canal both in Taguig City, and Newport Mall in Pasay City.
