BACOLOD CITY – A newborn baby boy was found on Cabalawan St., Purok 15, Barangay Poblacion I, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Friday, September 1.
Police Lt. Col. John Mocyat Jr., city police chief, said they received a report about an abandoned baby.
They proceeded to the Alfredo Marañon District Hospital in Sagay City to verify the report.
Investigation said the infant was found by rescuers about two to three hours after birth and was taken to the hospital with placenta still attached.
The baby weighed 2,700 grams and 50 centimeters in length, according to the police.
He is stable based on the assessment of the hospital staff.
Mocyat said they have no lead yet on the person who abandoned the baby.
