The water levels in Angat and La Mesa Dam continue to increase amid southwest monsoon or habagat.
According to Manila Water Co.'s Dam Watch on Monday, Sept. 4, La Mesa Dam has surpassed its normal operating level of 78 meters and reached 80.29 meters.
Angat Dam continues to rise and has reached 202.23 meters, almost reaching its year-end target water level of 210 meters to 212 meters.
Last Saturday, Sept. 2, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) stated that once Angat dam reaches its maximum capacity, it could last until next year's dry season or El Niño.
Meanwhile, the water level at Ipo Dam remains at its maintenance level of 101.1 meters, only 0.06 meters lower than Sunday's report.
Despite the heavy rains that have helped replenish the dams, Manila Water advised the public to conserve water regardless of the season. (Gabriell Christel Galang)
