BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.7 earthquake rocked Davao Occidental before dawn on Monday, September 4.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor was recorded at 2:15 a.m. and its epicenter was 72 kilometers (kms) southeast of Balut Island, municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The tremor had a depth of 104 kms, Phivolcs said.
No damage or injuries and expected from the earthquake.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported no damage or injury from the earthquake.
