The Archdiocese of Caceres has launched a mobile app aimed at providing devotees easy access to information on all matters related to the revered Our Lady Peñafrancia.

The CBCP said the app will provide devotees of “Ina” with prayers, event schedules, and faith testimonies. It will also help users keep track of Peñafrancia activities abroad.
According to the Commission on Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Caceres, the launching of the app is aimed at helping promote and spread devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
“The app will allow devotees to strengthen their devotion and deepen their faith in God. What used to be a regional devotion has spread in many countries,” the commission said.
The mobile app is currently free and available on iOS, with an Android version coming soon.
The device software was released as the archdiocese prepares to commemorate the centenary of the pontifical coronation of the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in 2024.
Pope Benedict XV authorized the canonical coronation of the revered image on May 13, 1920, in response to the petition of Bishop John Bernard McGinley.
The image was crowned during rites held on Sept. 20, 1924 by Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Guglielmo Piani, at the Naga Cathedral grounds.
Devotees are set to celebrate the grand feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia on Sept. 17.
