3 PUV drivers test positive for illegal drugs

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Three Public Utility Vehicle drivers tested positive for illegal drugs during the conduct of surprise drug tests in line with "Oplan: Balik Eskwela" in several bus terminals here on September 1.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 2 Interdiction Unit conducted the surprise drug test in partnership with the Land Transportation Office-Region 2 to ensure the safety of passengers using public transportation and prevent drug-related road accidents.

One-hundred PUV drivers were tested and three of them tested positive for illegal drugs.

Two K9 dogs also swept the bus terminals for illegal drugs which turned out negative.
