Around 100 personnel of the Manila Police District (MPD) underwent random drug testing at the MPD Headquarters in Ermita, Manila on Monday, Sept. 4.
The random drug testing laid out by MPD chief Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon was in accordance with the directive and program of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Dizon said members of the MPD, including its command group, clerk chiefs, and staff, lined up at the Rizal Hall following the announcement of the drug testing activity during their flag-raising ceremony.
The MPD chief also underwent the drug testing himself.
"The conduct of General Dizon's surprise drug test among the ranks of the Manila police seems to be a method of cleaning up his own yard which is also a proof of his dedication to the serious campaign against criminality and illegal drugs in the city," the MPD said.
It added that the surprise drug test was initially launched by NCRPO Chief Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Corpus Nartatez Jr. after the relief of the Mandaluyong chief of police who twice tested positive for illegal drugs last week.
Meanwhile, officials of Manila's finest said they are confident that all MPD precincts, stations, and offices remain drug-free.
On Tuesday, MPD said no one tested positive in the surprise drug test among the Manila policemen.
