PH Red Cross responds to 211 fire incidents since January 2023
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) announced on Saturday, Sept. 30, that its ambulance units responded to 211 fire incidents since January 2023.

PRC noted the recent massive fire reaching Task Force Bravo that engulfed the Herco Trading warehouse and a residential area in Brgy. Bagbaguin, Valenzuela on Sept. 28.
PRC fire trucks with eight firefighters were dispatched followed by two ambulance teams with five trained personnel.
Psychological first aid (PFA) was also provided to seven affected persons apart from the emergency responses, PRC said.
While acknowledging the nature of these fire emergencies, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon reassured the public of the PRC's preparedness to assist people affected by such incidents.
"The PRC has been responding to multiple fire incidents nationwide. We cannot predict how a fire incident such as this can reach the highest fire alarm level, so we ensure that our volunteers and staff are equipped and fully capable of responding and handling fire emergencies any time," Gordon said.
PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang explained that the fire trucks and firefighters are generally partnered with ambulance teams, food trucks, and welfare teams.
This allows them to provide not only medical care but also food assistance and psychosocial support to fire victims.
Furthermore, as of Sept. 27, according to PRC's data, the organization's ambulance units have responded to a total of 211 fire incidents from Jan. 1.
