Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) led by RR Salvador, led the launch of the project at the covered court in Barangay 149, Pildera II, NAIA Road, Pasay City.

Rubiano said the incentivized segregation project kicked off with a symbolic exchange of trash into goods such as rice or the "Basura Palit Bigas," canned goods, noodles, and other commodities.

She said the objective of the project is to encourage residents to participate in active waste management projects.

Through the program, residents would have a chance to exchange their trash such as empty bottles, junked plastic wares, and other recyclable materials for other commodities like rice, canned goods, coffee, sugar and others.

Rubiano said that she believes Pasayenos would be encouraged to become more reliant, responsible, and actively participate in propagating ecological solid waste management in the city.
