Police Major Rolando Araño, Iloilo Provincial Police Office spokesperson, said the big volume of drugs came from a source linked to Rene in Metro Manila.

The 22-year-old Rence, a resident of Barangay Gogo in Estancia, is the local contact of Rene.

The operation was conducted by the Estancia Municipal Police Station led by Police Lt. Renzo Martinez and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU) led by Police Major Albert Fortunado.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 lauded the two police units for achieving one of its biggest hauls of shabu for the year.

“Sa pagkakakumpiska ng ganito ka daming iligal na droga ay marami na naman tayong naisalbang buhay at kinabukasan (The huge volume of illegal drugs means that many lives and futures have been saved),” said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director.

Suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act.
