In a statement, the official thanked those who attended the gathering and was the one who introduced the President to her fellow Davaoeños.

Dubbed as “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan,” the President led the ceremonial awarding to six beneficiaries on Friday, Sept. 29.

“CBSP (Comprehensive Social Benefits Program) stands as a living tribute to the bravery, gallantry and unwavering resilience demonstrated by the heroes of our nation in the face of adversity,” Duterte said of the program started by her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.

The Vice President also called on the audience to move forward with gratitude, unity and service to the country.

In 2020, the former president signed Executive Order No. 110 to assist families of uniformed personnel who died or were wounded in battle.

Through the CBSP, the government gives “recognition to the men in uniform who dedicated and continue to dedicate their lives in the service and protection of the nation through immediate and long-term support to their families and beneficiaries,” a statement from Duterte’s office said.

It provides for different types of benefits and assistance such financial, scholarship, social welfare, health and employment.

Also present in the gathering were Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, and Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo.
