Marcos expands Sarangani's Kamanga agro-industrial economic zone
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has designated several parcels of land in Maasim, Sarangani province for inclusion in the existing Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone.

It will be implemented through Proclamation No. 330 issued on Aug. 29.
This is pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 7916, otherwise known as the Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, as amended by RA No. 8748 and upon the recommendations of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
The proclamation designates parcels of land located in Barangay Kamanga in Maasim, with an aggregate area of more or less 370,705 square meters. into the existing Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone.This is subject to the provisions of RA No. 7916, as amended, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), PEZA Board of Directors Resolution NO. 07-232 (s. 2007) and Resolution No. 22-021 (s.2022).
The PEZA recognized Sarangani’s potential as being the prime location of the Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone, which hosts a number of companies generating P42 billion worth of investments.
PEZA has expressed optimism that more ecozones will be created in provinces like Sarangani, with the expected influx of various industries to the regions.
With the President placing strategic importance on the development of economic zones, PEZA has intensified its efforts to promote business and investment opportunities, especially in the countryside, and attract foreign investors to come and locate their operations in the country’s economic zones.
