China’s Kyle Anderson was left impressed by the performances of Jordan Clarkson and Rhenz Abando after Gilas' 96-75 win in the 2023 FIBA World Cup on Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Anderson was amazed on the Nationals' defensive stops, highlighted by Abando’s block on him which triggered a wild roar from the crowd.
“I’m not sure what’s his name or number, he got the block on me in my euro step, he turned the game around, him [Abando] and Jordan Clarkson turned the game around,” Anderson said.
Clarkson rallied the Nationals in the third quarter with four consecutive three-pointers that sparked a 27-2 run midway through the frame.
“Simple as that, they played well, hats off to those guys,” Anderson said.
The Minnesota Timberwolves forward, who topscored for his squad with 17 points that went with nine rebounds and five assists, praised Gilas for finally winning its first game.
“Credit to them, they played well and played hard, they’ve got the fans behind them and Jordan [Clarkson] played great, their whole team played great, I’ll give a lot of credit to those guys they compete with,” he added.
“I think I did enough, obviously, whenever we lose a game."
