Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Jordan Clarkson is still feeling young and competitive to keep playing for the country in the foreseeable future.
The 31-year-old Utah Jazz star brought the Philippines to its first win in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup after erupting for 34 points in their 95-76 victory over China on Saturday, Sept. 2.
“Yeah, I think so. 35 ain’t that 30 was the new 20, right? I still feel young. I’m still out here competing. I don’t think that’s my last performance in this jersey. I think I got more time, still can hope,” Clarkson said.
“I can’t even tell you what I’m eating in the morning. Hopefully, down the line when that time comes around again, I’m able to put this jersey on and represent the country,” he added.
Clarkson revealed that he was still down to play for Gilas even in the next World Cup and continue his national duties.
With the NBA season beginning in October along with his busy offseason schedule, Clarkson’s reinforcement is likely to be missed in the Asian Games
