"This activity is vital in order for us to be well-prepared and refreshed on the things that we should do whenever these incidents happen,” said Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director.
The top brass of PRO-6, including Police Colonels Joriz Cantoria, Gilbert Gorero, and Pablito Asmod Jr., led the evaluating team for the simulation exercise that tested the capability of units under the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to handle various lawless elements that might threaten the peace and security of the regional capital.
Villaflor ordered a SIMEX for the ICPO for the last quarter of the year as it beefed up measures for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections next month and the holiday season.
ICPO units were tested in five different scenarios in different locations within the SM City Iloilo complex on Thursday, September 28 – active shooting incident, hostage-taking, suspicious package and bomb threat, clearing operation and crime scene investigation, and high-risk stop.
