PRO-12 reshuffles 300 cops for BSKE

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – The Police Regional Office-12 has reshuffled 300 police personnel in the Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos area) line with the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30.

Police Brig. Gen Jimili Macaraeg, PRO-12 director, ordered the reassignment of these policemen who have relatives running in the elections.

Police Major Riza Hernaez, PRO-12 spokesperson, said the police regional headquarters deemed it proper to relieve policemen from their posts in areas where their relatives are running to prevent them from engaging in partisan political activities.

She said 324 police personnel, including 11 police commissioned officers, were affected by the revamp.

Hernaez added that PRO-12 has placed more 900 barangays in the Soccsksargen region under potential areas of concern in the elections.

She said 32 barangays in North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, which experienced election-related incidents in the past elections, were placed under immediate areas of concern in the elections.
