Mariana Zobel to head ALI's leasing, hospitality businesses


Mariana Beatriz Zobel de Ayala, daughter of Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, has been appointed senior vice president of property giant Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) effective Oct. 1, 2023.

This was disclosed by ALI to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) among other recent appointments and promotions of officers within the company.

Zobel will also be part of ALI's Management Committee. She is already a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

An ALI spokesperson said Zobel was appointed SVP and Leasing and Hospitality Group Head. This will cover the firm’s extensive investments in offices, malls, resorts, and hotels.

Prior to this appointment, she was previously with ALI from 2015 to 2019 and handled Alveo Land and then Ayala Malls before moving on to the Bank of the Philippine Islands.

Also promoted to Senior Vice Presidents in ALI from Vice Presidents effective Oct. 1 are Ayala Land Premier President Joseph Carmichael Z. Jugo, Raquel S. Cruz, and Christopher B. Maglanoc while Enrique B. Manuel Jr. and Jeremy U. Sy were named Vice Presidents.

Also appointed is Pauline Clarisse K. Feria as ALI’s Vice President. This will be concurrent to her role as Head of Strategy at Ayala Corporation. 

She started her career in UBS Investment Bank until she joined Ayala Corporation in 2016. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Yale University and her Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School.

Roscoe M. Pineda was also appointed as Chief Information Officer to replace Amelia Ann T. Alipao who retired. Pineda is one of ALI’s Vice Presidents and currently the IT Director of the Residential Business Group.

Isabel D. Sagun was named Chief Human Resources Officer. She is also a Vice President and currently ALI’s HR Head of Operations.
