Third-ranked atomweight MMA contender Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga will be glued to her television set when the main event of ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham rolls around.

In the headliner, former ONE Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex takes on Ham “Hamzzang” Seo Hee for the ONE Interim Atomweight MMA World Title on Saturday morning, Sept. 30, inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Once upon a time, Zamboanga sat atop the list of contenders, but a combination of circumstances around that time coupled with two close losses sent the T-Rex MMA representative back down the ladder.
But with consecutive wins over quality opponents, the Filipina believes she deserves to get hers after this match.
“I had a shot at the belt before, but so much has happened since then and it slipped through my fingers,” she said.
“But I think I still deserve that shot. I’m the third-ranked atomweight, so whoever wins this fight, I think I deserve a shot at that belt.”
Asked to break down the match, Zamboanga unsurprisingly gave the striking advantage to Stamp, owing to her illustrious striking career. But what’s shocking is how she believes the Thai superstar has an even bigger advantage on the ground.
Many expect Ham to rely on her wrestling and control to overcome Stamp in this fight, but “The Menace” expects the Fairtex Training Center representative to put the South Korean on the defensive should they engage in a grappling contest.
“Ham is a southpaw, and Stamp loves fighting southpaws. So I think she has a definite striking advantage,” she said.
“But if this fight hits the ground, I believe Stamp’s grappling skills will carry her to victory. Ham is good on the ground, don’t get me wrong. But she is more defensive than offensive.”
While she’s not discounting the possibility of Ham figuring out Stamp for the duration of the five rounds, she expects the charismatic Thai striker to finish “Hamzzang” before the final bell.
“It’s possible that Stamp finishes Ham within five rounds. I see a knockout win for Stamp Fairtex via body shot,” she said.
“I’ve felt Stamp’s body kicks in training, and it’s a knockout blow. I know how that feels and it’s not good.”
