The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 185 new Covid-19 cases on Sept. 28, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 4,114,471.

Meanwhile, it did not report additional Covid-19-related fatalities, maintaining the fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
Based on the DOH Covid-19 tracker, the country has 3,012 active Covid-19 cases.
It also revealed 104 new recoveries, representing an 98.3 percent recovery rate, with 4,044,763 people having survived the virus.
Regarding the availability of intensive care unit (ICU) beds allocated for Covid-19 patients, the DOH reported that 234 beds, or 11.85 percent, of the 1,095 available ICU beds are currently occupied.
Similarly, non-ICU Covid-19 beds were frequently utilized, with 2,937, or 15.67 percent, of the 18,746 available beds in use, while mechanical ventilators, numbering 2,074, had 99 currently in use by Covid-19 patients.
In line with this, the DOH warned the public not to become complacent in the face of the Covid-19 threat.
The health department stressed the importance of adhering to minimum health standards, which included wearing well-fitting face masks and staying in well-ventilated areas.
Those who had symptoms, the DOH said, should be isolated immediately.
DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible for added protection. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
