Christmas park reopens in Rizal Province

After more than two years, the traditional Christmas park that has been providing fun to people of all ages, was re-opened to the public inside the compound of the Rizal Provincial Capitol in Antipolo City.

Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares Chiongbian led provincial government officials in opening the Christmas park, locally known as Ynares Tiangge on Sept. 26 which coincided with the birthday of the governor’s mother, former Governor Rebecca "Nini" Ynares.

It has been a tradition in Rizal that the Christmas themed park is unveiled during the former governor’s birth anniversary.

The park has several traditional rides for children and adults, game booths, food stalls, and several booths that sell ready-to-wear clothes, apparels, accessories, and toys.

Since 2020, particularly at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial government did not allow the theme park to open in adherence to the health protocols that were imposed by the national government.

Following the opening ceremony, Ynares also led local officials in the unveiling of the giant Christmas Tree which is made of thousands of recycled materials not only to officially usher in the Christmas season but also to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the Ynares Eco System to Green Program (YES) which was the pet pro-environment project of the former governor.
