BANTAY, Ilocos Sur – The Bureau of Immigration arrested a fugitive Indian national in a restaurant on the national highway here on Tuesday, September 26.
The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Prithes Das, jobless, resident of Makati City.
Das was allegedly involved in fraudulent activities and scams in Ilocos Sur and other parts of the country. He had been arrested for fraud in Davao City.
Das was also an overstaying and undesirable alien as he violated the Philippine Immigration Law, Commonwealth Act No. 163.
The suspect was allegedly involved in a scam in this province by representing himself as an Indian Embassy official. The Indian Embassy referred the misrepresentation and fraudulent activities of the suspect to the police for immediate action.
Das is under the custody of the BI Fugitive Search Unit for documentation and deportation.
