From star to steward: Alden Richards joins MOWELFUND's board

Alden Richards wears another hat.

Asia's Multimedia Star was recently appointed as the newest member of the Board of Trustees for the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc. (MOWELFUND), an organization dedicated to the well-being of individuals working in the film industry.

Among those who welcomed Alden were veteran actor Rez Cortez, President and CEO of MOWELFUND, and board members Gina Alajar and Boots Anson Roa.

In an interview on "24 Oras," Alden expressed, "Naghahanap na talaga ako ng ways paano ba ako makakapagbigay pabalik sa isang industriya na nagpabago ng buhay ko. 'Yun, binigay sa'kin ni Lord si MOWELFUND."

The singer-actor-producer is now also a film director.

His first venture as director is his upcoming film alongside Julia Montes, "Five Breakups and a Romance."

He mentioned that it was director Irene Villamor who suggested it to him.
