Female screening officer in dollar-swallowing incident at NAIA found guilty in probe

The female security screening officer who was caught in the closed circuit television (CCTV) swallowing alleged dollar bills was found guilty of theft during the investigation, Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said.

Aside from the female screening officer in the CCTV, Bautista said three other personnel of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) are now facing administrative and criminal cases.

Bautista said an investigation report was already forwarded to his office  which indicate that a wrongdoing was committed.

The $300 bills were allegedly stolen from a foreign passenger. A CCTV footage showed that a female screening officer swallowing the money.

But the screening officer said she was swallowing a chocolate.

The incident caused the resignation of OTS administrator Ma.o Aplasca after House Speaker Martin Romualdez said he would personnaly blocked the budget of the agency if he would not quit.
