Did you know Google has online training programs to help people get in-demand jobs? Google has an initiative called Grow with Google, which aims to help people learn new skills or expand their existing skills with online training the giant tech company developed. The initiative offers online programs, such as Google Career Certificates, Google Certifications, and Practical Professional Skills.

I can personally vouch for the usefulness and depth of these certificate programs, having undertaken the IT support course myself. I am proud to say that I am now a certified Google IT Support Professional. I did five courses and got done in three months. My learning journey didn’t stop there; I have embarked on the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certification and have successfully completed the first course in the series, titled "Foundations of Cybersecurity." There will be seven more to go.

Google Career Certificates are flexible online training courses that can prepare people for in-demand jobs in various fields, such as digital marketing, IT support, data analysis, project management, UX design, and cybersecurity. The courses do not require any prior experience or degree and can be completed in three to six months. Learners can access job opportunities with Google and its hiring partners upon completion.

Google for Education Certifications are online tests demonstrating people's proficiency in using Google tools for teaching and learning, such as Google Workspace for Education and Chromebooks. The certifications can help educators enhance their classroom practice and professional development.

Practical Professional Skills are free online courses that teach people practical skills to get ahead at work, such as resume writing, digital collaboration, inclusive leadership, and feedback exchange. The courses are designed to be interactive and engaging and can be completed in less than an hour.

Google said that Grow with Google is part of its commitment to help people access the digital skills they need to succeed in the changing economy. The initiative also offers scholarships and grants to underrepresented groups and nonprofits that support them.
