AdMU maintains position as leading PH university in THE World Rankings 2024


Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) remains the top Philippine university in the Times Higher Education's (THE) World University Rankings 2024.

Despite maintaining its top position among Philippine universities, AdMU dropped to the 1001-1200 bracket from 351-400 in last year’s ranking.

Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines (UP) has seen its ranking fall from 801-1000 to 1201-1500.

De La Salle University (DLSU) has also moved from the 1201-1500 bracket to the 1501+ bracket.

On the other hand, the University of Santo Tomas (UST), which was under the "reporter" status in last year’s ranking, has risen to the top 4 in the 1501+ bracket.

THE said "reporter" status means that "they (universities) provided data but did not meet our eligibility criteria to receive a rank, and agreed to be displayed as a reporter in the final table."

The THE World University Rankings 2024 included 1,904 universities from 108 countries and regions.

Other Philippine universities that gained "reporter" status in the latest THE rankings were Cebu Technological University, Central Luzon State University, University of Eastern Philippines, and Mapua University.

Among the institutions on the list were Mariano Marcos State University, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Tarlac Agricultural University, and Visayas State University.

The University of Oxford maintained its number one position in the world for this year's ranking, followed by Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University, which ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
