2 'salvage' victims in Bago City tagged as drug personalities
BACOLOD CITY – The two men found dead in Bago City, Negros Occidental last week were drug personalities according to their families.
Police Lt. Col. Jay Malong, Bago City police chief, said the victims were identified by their families over the weekend as Edward Pille, 29, of Barangay Alijis here, and Scott Arevalo of Barangay Singcang-Airport, this city.
Based on their investigation, Malong said that Pille had a homicide case while Arevalo had cases for physical injuries and illegal gambling and had a drug offense.
The victims were hogtied and their faces were covered with packing tape when they were discovered by a duck raiser in Purok Talutog, Barangay Dulao on September 22.
A lever hose was also tied around their neck, an indication of possible strangulation. Police believe that the victims were killed somewhere and dropped in the area.
After their identification, Malong said that they are exploring many possible angles behind the killing, one of which was drug-related because of their background.
He said that they are now in the process of eliminating other angles to establish the motive.
Malong said the victims were last seen alive on Thursday night, September 20, at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang-Airport where they worked as passenger jeepney barker or dispatcher.
He added that the victims were seen leaving the area that night on board a motorcycle before they were found dead the following day
