Leading the pack of rookies who already secured contracts was No. 2 overall pick Christian David who agreed to a two-year deal with Blackwater last Monday, Sept. 25.

David is expected to form a potent frontline rotation with guys like Ato Ular, Yousef Taha and Troy Rosario for head coach Jeff Cariaso who is hoping to steer the Bossing up to the standings and away from the cellar in the upcoming season.

Also securing a big man to boost its frontline was TNT after signing 15th overall pick Henry Galinato to a two-year deal.

The former UP standout, which the Tropang Giga acquired in a trade with Rain or Shine, will be a frontcourt boost the TNT needs especially with Justin Chua and Poy Erram still nursing some injuries.

Terrafirma also locked in one of its two first rounders in the high-flying guard Taylor Miller with a two-year contract. Miller is expected to become one of Dyip's weapons along with top pick Stephen Holts and provide added scoring punch to Terrafirma star Juami Tiongson.

San Miguel Beer also secured the services of online sensation Kyt Jimenez along with Troy Malilin. The Beermen’s 76th and 35th overall picks, respectively, inked two-year contracts on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Jimenez should be an interesting addition to SMB’s backcourt led by flamboyant guard Terrence Romeo, sharpshooting Simon Enciso and veterans Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross.

NorthPort, one of the busier teams during the draft day, also secured its young guns after signing No. 11 pick Cade Flores, No. 29 Brent Paraiso and No. 40 Fran Yu to two-year deals on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Converge also had a slew of signees led by 19th overall pick BJ Andrade and 61st pick Kamron Vigan Fleming. The FiberXers also picked up Patrick Maagdenberg from free agency after being left unsigned by Magnolia.

In all, a total of 33 of the 79 draftees were left unsigned by teams that selected them, making them free agents. John Lloyd Clemente, Kim Aurin, JC Cullar and Zach Huang were some of the notable rookies now free to sign to any team that wants their services.
