Hundreds of teachers benefitted from the medical mission offered by the office of Congressman Edwin Olivarez in celebration of “Teachers Month” on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Olivarez said the medical mission, called “Together4Teachers ni Kuya Edwin,” was held at 88 Square Mall located in Barangay San Dionisio.
The medical mission offered free check-up, optical check-up, ECG and ultrasound, HGT (blood sugar test), and eye glasses, medicines, and vitamins.
Ospital ng Parañaque (OsPar)-1 medical director Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, with the help of Dr. Darius Sebastian, OsPar administrator and chief nurse, Meda Calderon successfully led the mission.
Mayor Eric Olivarez and Councilor Pablo “Pao” Olivarez also joined the medical mission.
It was the office of Mayor Olivarez that distributed the free eye glasses while Councilor Olivarez offered free photocopying services and snacks for the teachers.
The medical mission also featured the Malasakit one-stop-shop.
The distribution of medical and financial assistance to 1,103 beneficiaries of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation ( AICS) was also conducted on the same day.
Olivarez lauded the city’s teachers for serving as the second parents of the students and for their devotion to teaching.
The congressman also emphasized that: “Ang gobyerno dapat ang lalapit sa tao (It should be the government that should bring its services closer to the people).”
