House Speaker Martin Romualdez can't help but feel "deeply grateful" to Filipinos after seeing his approval and trust ratings from the latest OCTA Research survey.
According to the results of OCTA’s "Tugon ng Masa" poll conducted from July 22 to 26, Romualdez maintained strong majority approval and trust ratings of 55 percent and 54 percent, respectively.
"I am deeply grateful to the Filipino people for their unwavering support and the privilege to serve as Speaker of the House of Representatives. I am committed to working hard to make a positive impact on the lives of our kababayans,” Romualdez, the leader of the 311-strong legislative chamber, said in a statement Wednesday, Sept. 27.
The statement said that the ratings were "widely regarded as a reflection of the trust and confidence that the Filipino people placed in the leadership of the House of Representatives and the legislative agenda pursued by the 19th Congress".
Romualdez--arguably President Marcos' most trusted ally in the entire bureaucracy--said he was humbled by the continued support of the public and remained committed to fulfilling his duties and responsibilities with utmost dedication and integrity.
Acknowledging that the ratings results came during challenging times, Speaker says he is firmly committed to working with his fellow House members to address current issues and pave the path toward a brighter future for all Filipinos.
The Tugon ng Masa is a non-commissioned survey that employed face-to-face interviews with a representative sample of 1,200 adult respondents nationwide.
“The 19th Congress will continue to prioritize legislation that promotes economic growth, strengthens our healthcare system, and addresses the pressing concerns of our citizens. We will work together to build a more resilient and prosperous Philippines,” he said.
