The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 111 new Covid-19 infections on Sept. 26, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 4,114,099.

DOH, meanwhile, did not report additional Covid-19-related fatalities, maintaining the fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
Based on the data, the country has 2,867 active Covid-19 cases.
DOH also revealed a 98.3 percent recovery rate, with a total of 4,044,536 people having survived the virus.
On the availability of intensive care unit (ICU) beds designated for Covid-19 patients, the DOH reported that 213 beds, or 10.52 percent, of the 2,025 available ICU beds are currently occupied.
Similarly, non-ICU Covid-19 beds were frequently utilized, with 2,905, or 15.4 percent, of the 18,869 available beds in use, while mechanical ventilators, numbering 2,117, had 108 currently in use by Covid-19 patients.
In line with this, the DOH warned the public not to become complacent in the face of the Covid-19 threat.
The health department also highlighted that the public should continue to adhere to the minimum health standards.
The public was also urged to continue wearing well-fitting facemasks and to stay in well-ventilated areas.
Those who had symptoms, the DOH said, should be isolated immediately.
DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible for added protection. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
