Mayor Wes opens new events center in Valenzuela


Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian led the inauguration of a new events space in Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela City on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The WES Events Center is part of the local government’s “Proyektong Kakaiba” that aims to improve the delivery of services to residents by building or rehabilitating various facilities in the city.

According to the city government, the 1,400-square-meter facility features a two-story parking area for vehicles, and a state-of-the art wooden court where families can hold different activities.

On the same day, another building that will serve as  an events center in Barangay Lawnag Bato was also inaugurated.

The mayor said that the facility will aim to provide quality and affordable venue for families for their events to celebrate important milestones in their lives.

He added that the building will serve as an activity center for  the local government’s different events such as oath-taking ceremonies of members of various organizations in the city.

In his speech, Gatchalian said the city government will install more street lights and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the city to ensure the safety and security of residents, especially students, who are walking along the streets during evening.

Present during the activity were Valenzuela City Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, city councilors, and department heads.
