The Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas (KSMBP) is at it again.
After filing a criminal case against 'It's Showtime' hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, the group is now on to singer-vlogger Toni Fowler.
The KSMBP is accusing her of peddling "obscene" music videos, going on to file three counts of violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 at the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office against Toni.
Atty. Mark Tolentino, the legal counsel of the KSMBP, maintains the videos are not covered by the so-called freedom of expression.
He told GMA News, "Kasi when you say freedom of press or freedom of expression, hindi absolute 'yan. May mga limitation ang freedom of press… the second limitation is Article 201 of the RPC. Ito 'yung nagbibigay ng mga obscene publication, indecent publication..."
Note that in the video for her song "MPL," Toni is seen dancing while holding and wearing sex toys.
She is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
