Not only was the mission accomplished; it was accomplished way ahead of schedule.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez proudly announced on Wednesday night, Sept. 27 the 100 percent completion of the chamber's task to approve 20 priority bills of the Marcos administration before the end of the year.
"We are three months ahead of target…Salamat sa tulong ninyong lahat. Mission accomplished po tayo - tatlong buwan bago matapos ang deadline na nakagkasunduan ng Senate, House of Representatives at executive department,” Romualdez told the plenary in a speech.

Romualdez was referring to the second full meeting of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) last July 5 where 20 priority bills targeted for approval by Dec. 31, 2023 were identified.
“I have no doubt that our collective action, imbued with competence and a passion for public service, led us to deliver responsive and relevant legislative measures required to champion social justice and economic development,” said the Leyte 1st district congressman.
The 20 LEDAC-listed measures passed on third and final reading by the House were as follows:
(1) House Bill (HB) No.6522 - Philippine Centers for Disease Prevention and Control Act;
(2) HB No.6518 - Health Auxiliary Reinforcement Team Act;
(3) HB No.6452 - Virology and Vaccine Institute of the Philippines Act;
(4) HB No.6687 - Instituting a National Citizens Service Program;
(5) HB No.6558 - Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act;
(6) HB No.7327 - E-Governance/E-Government Act;
(7) HB No.6444 - Waste Treatment Technology Act;
(8) HB No.6510 - New Philippine Passport Act;
(9) HB No.7325 - Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers;
(10) HB No.7240 - National Government Rightsizing Act;
(11) HB No.7393 - Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act;
(12) HB No.7446 - Amending the Bank Secrecy Law;
(13) HB No.8969 - Military and Other Uniformed Personnel Pension Act;
(14) HB No.9284 - Anti Agri-fishery Commodities and Tobacco Economic Sabotage Act of 2023;
(15) HB No.8400 - The Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act (National Employment Recovery Strategy), recently enacted as Republic Act (RA) No. 11962;
(16) HB No.7006 - Automatic Income Classification Act for Local Government Units;
(17) HB No.0004 - Internet Transactions or E-Commerce Law;
(18) HB No.6527 - Public-Private Partnership Act;
(19) HB No.4125 - Ease of Paying Taxes Act; and
(20) HB 8278 or the proposed Philippine Salt Industry Development Act
The other legislative chamber, the Senate, is also tasked to approve the 20 LEDAC measures within the year.
Also on Wednesday night, the House passed on third and final reading HB No.8980, or the P5.768-trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB) or proposed national budget for 2024. Eyed for enactment within the year, the House-approved GAB will be transmitted to the Senate.
Congress (the House and Senate) went on recess following Wednesday' session. The lawmakers won't convene again until Nov. 6.
