Foreigner nabbed for extortion

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police apprehended a foreigner allegedly involved in a robbery and extortion attempt against a compatriot in Angeles City, Pampanga.

According to the Angeles City police, the Chinese victim on Monday night, September 25, reported the loss of his cellular phone and his subsequent contact with the suspect.

The suspect, a countryman, allegedly demanded P100,000 in exchange for the return of the stolen cellphone which made the incident a case of extortion.

Police hatched an entrapment operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the victim's cellphone.

Suspect faces appropriate charges.
