Billboard corrects Global chart after leaving out BTS’ V’s ‘Slow Dancing’ song

Billboard corrected its latest Global chart after fans protested that BTS V’s “Slow Dancing” song was left out in the top 10.

“Slow Dancing by #V is missing on Billboard Global 200 and Excl. US Chart despite having more streams on platforms like Spotify last tracking week compared to other songs e.g. Love Me Again and Rainy Days. Please address this ASAP. Thank you,” one fan posted X and tagged Billboard to correct the mistake.

On Sept. 27, Billboard issued a corrected top 10 ranking for its Sept. 30-dated Billboard Global Excl. US chart, which now showed BTS’ V’s “Slow Dancing” at No. 9.

Billboard originally posted the ranking on Sept. 26 with Tate McRae’s “Greedy” occupying the No. 9 slot and cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe’s “Prada” at No. 10.

In the corrected chart, V’s “Slow Dancing” is now at No. 9 and “Greedy” at No. 10.

BTS’ V released his “Layover” album on Sept. 8 that includes the songs “Slow Dancing” and “Rainy Days.”

“The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States,” according to Billboard.

It added, “Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.”

In an article accompanying the chart, Billboard did not release how many streams “Slow Dancing” got.

Furious BTS ARMYs criticized Billboard for making the mistake about “Slow Dancing.”

“YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED AFTER THIS!!  LIKE HOW DID YOU SIMPLY REMOVE A SONG WHEN IT IS IN THE TOP 10!!!!!!!” one fan commented on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart article on X (formerly Twitter).

Another wrote, “HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!! IF WE DIDNT TAG YOU AND CALL YOU OUT ON YOUR OWN JOB YOU WOULDN'T HAVE FIXED IT!”

“You still haven't given us a an explanation why it was removed! Also, Layover album’s position didn't change on the Billboard 200 chart & Slow Dancing is not on the Digital Song Sales after buying on every platform all week! Pls accurately reflect our US sales too! FIX THIS!” another fan commented.
