144 CAFGU dependents receive livelihood aid

SANTA CRUZ, Laguna – One-hundred forty-four Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit dependents received livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Laguna, the provincial government of Laguna, and the Philippine Army on Wednesday, September 27.

The distribution of aid at the Laguna Cultural Center here was part of the National Peace Consciousness Month celebration.

DOLE-Laguna chief Guido Recio said they want to help CAFGU dependents with their daily needs by providing them businesses such as rice, frozen goods, and sari-sari stores and was part of the tribute to CAFGU efforts to end violence caused by terrorist groups in the Calabarzon or the Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon area.

National Peace Consciousness Month is celebrated every September and is based on Proclamation No. 675 issued in 2004.

It aims to instill a greater awareness and understanding of promoting the culture of peace throughout the country.
