Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers will be experienced in the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas because of the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, and Western Visayas due to moderate to heavy monsoon rains.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned against flash flood and landslides during moderate to heavy rains, particularly in high-risk areas.
Meanwhile, weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) east of Luzon still has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
Castañeda added that PAGASA is not ruling out the possibility of the LPA entering PAR, and that its trough may bring rain showers to some areas of Luzon in the coming days. (Lizst Torres Abello)
