The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has expressed confidence that the Philippines and Saudi Arabia will continue working together and build stronger ties "with a shared vision of inclusive progress and sustainable growth."
Speaking at the celebration of the 93rd national day of the Kingdom, DFA Undersecretary Antonio Morales noted Saudi Arabia's progress after transforming into a "modern and diversified economy."
"The whole world now sees Saudi Arabia as a model of bridging the past and the future, where heritage and history is intertwined with urbanism, cultural shifts and international competitiveness," Morales on Tuesday night said.
Morales said the agency is hoping that relations between Manila and Riyadh would continue as "it is through our strong relationship that we are able to support our people in their needs and help them flourish in the Kingdom."
Keeping in mind a million of Filipinos recognized as having a strong contribution to Saudi Arabia, Morales said the agency is committed to pursue high level visits on either side to maintain its ties with the Kingdom.
He even announced the upcoming visit of President Marcos to Saudi Arabia in October that is expected to "further strengthen the strong, friendly and vibrant relations that happily exist between our two countries."
Meanwhile, Saudi Ambassador to the Philippines Hisham bin Sultan Al-Qahtani said the Kingdom values "the mutual support and collaboration between our countries."
That is "seen through our active participation in regional and international forums, enhancing economic cooperation, and fostering a strong partnership," Al-Qahtani added.
He expressed hopes that the Marcos administration would sustain its "ongoing achievements, economic well-being, and advancement."
