P210-M shabu seized in Western Visayas in 9 months

ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 seized more than P210.572 million worth of shabu in nine months in Western Visayas.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 director, said 30.968 kilograms of shabu were seized in 1,283 anti-drug operations from January 1 to September 23.

Villaflor cited police in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod for the accomplishment.

The PRO-6 said 1,613 drug pushers were also arrested – 1,287 street-level and 326 high-value individuals.

Bulk of the illegal drugs were seized when Villaflor took over as Western Visayas top cop on May 24.  More than P131 million shabu were seized from May 24 to September 23 in the region.

Police also seized 2.18 kilos of marijuana in the first nine months of the year.
