9 suspects nabbed, over P243,000 illegal drugs seized in QC buy-bust
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) personnel confiscated P243,960 worth of illegal drugs and collared nine suspects in a series of buy-bust operations in the city on Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, QCPD Novaliches Station (PS 4) commander, identified one of the suspects as Jandy Cabilosa, 25, who yielded a kilogram of suspected marijuana valued at P120,000 on Tuesday.
The entrapment against Cabilosa was conducted at Quirino Highway, Brgy. Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City at around 2:25 a.m. after receiving information from a concerned citizen about his illegal drug trade in the area.
Also seized from the suspect were a cellular phone, a brown paper bag, one helmet, a motorcycle, a driver's license, and the buy-bust money.
The QCPD Masambong Police Station (PS 2) also arrested another suspect identified as Jeremy Oro, 25, of Brgy. Paligsahan, Quezon City after they confiscated 56 grams of kush (a variety of marijuana) worth P78,400.
He was collared at around 5:50 a.m on the same day in front of a house on Del Monte Avenue in Brgy. Masambong, Quezon City.
QCPD La Loma Police Station (PS 1) operatives also nabbed Manuel Tuazon Jr, 28, a resident of Brgy. Balingasa, Quezon City in a buy-bust operation at 9:30 p.m on Monday at Clover Leaf Market, EDSA, Balintawak, Brgy. Balingasa in the city. He yielded 1.2 grams of suspected shabu worth P8,160.
Meanwhile, the Fairview Police Station (PS 5) under Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin arrested Johnmar Contad, 28, of Brgy. Commonwealth, Quezon City at 9:00 p.m. at Camaro St., Brgy. Greater Fairview, Quezon City.
Seized from the suspect’s were one gram of shabu worth P6,800, a coin purse, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
The Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under the leadership of Lt. Col. Robert Amoranto arrested three suspects identified as Edmon Quiling Asencio, 24; Roberth Nacario Obsuna, 30; and Cresilyn Nocario Jayson, 34, all residents of Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City on Tuesday.
They were nabbed in a buy-bust operation launched at C-4 NIA Road, Brgy. Pinyahan at around 1 a.m. after the operatives confiscated P3,400 worth of suspected shabu and a cellular phone from them.
QCPD Galas Station (PS 11) personnel also apprehended two suspects identified as Reynaldo Ciriaco, 50, and Ronald Fernandez, 54, both residents of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City, at around 5 a.m. on the same day.
The PS 11 carried out the buy-bust operation at ROTC Hunters corner Araneta Avenue, Brgy. Tatalon, seizing four grams of alleged shabu worth P27,200 from the suspects.
All the arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, QCPD said.
