Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and President Marcos led the distribution of rice to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila, on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), around 1,000 4Ps beneficiaries under levels 1 (survival), 2 (subsistence), and 3 (self-sufficient) were given 25 kilos of rice.
It said that the distributed sacks of rice came were those seized by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) during its raid on a warehouse in Zamboanga City this month valued at P42 million.

In her speech, Mayor Honey said that the beneficiaries were blessed enough to be chosen by the DSWD to receive the rice that can help them and their families.
She also showed her appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries to the president.
We know how our President is working hard to lower the cost of our basic necessities, especially rice. So as we thank him for this, I ask that we also include him in our prayers)," the mayor said.
I hope that he will not get tired of looking at our beloved city of Manila, which is the capital of the Philippines, and which houses and protects the highest leader of our country)," she added.
Lacuna-Pangan thanked the president and told him that he is always welcome in the city.
