Motorcycle rider dies after being run over by SUV on Roxas Blvd

A motorcycle rider died in a vehicular accident along Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila on Monday morning, Sept. 25.

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) identified the victim as Ralph Jhoren Doble Paral, 29, a resident of Navotas City.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the drivers of the motorcycle and sports utility vehicle (SUV) were traveling on the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard in front of the United States Embassy office at around 9 a.m.

Police identified the female driver of the SUV as Seawright Lauren Kari, 36, a US diplomat.

The left side of the motorcycle was hit by the right side front portion of the SUV which caused the motorcycle rider to fall off his vehicle.

When the rider hit the ground, he was run over by the right-side front wheel of the SUV.

Responders from Manila DRRMO said the victim sustained a severe head injury. They said the victim was already dead when they arrived at the scene at 9:15 a.m.

Authorities are still conducting an in-depth investigation into the incident.
