The southwest monsoon still prevails in the western portion of Visayas and Southern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Monday, Sept. 25.

As a result, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, thunder, and lightning are expected in MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Oriental, Zambales, and Bataan, according to PAGASA.
For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, PAGASA forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, weather specialist Veronica Torres mentioned that PAGASA is also monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), which was located 1,930 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.
"This Low Pressure Area still has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours," said Torres.
In the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected on Sept. 26, according to PAGASA.
Over the next three days, PAGASA anticipates partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers in Metro Manila. (Lizst Torres Abello)
