1 killed in motorcycle-trailer collision on Roxas Blvd

A motorcycle driver was killed after a trailer truck hit the motorcycle he was driving along Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila, on Monday morning, Sept. 25.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the deceased victim as Domenador Odon, a resident of Meycauyan, Bulacan.

Police said Globert Abad, the truck driver, was traversing the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. at around 10:20 a.m.

When he reached the corner of Kalaw Avenue Ermita, his truck's right portion collided with the left side of the motorcycle.

Due to the strong impact, the motorcycle rider fell on the pavement and was also run over by the right-side rear tire of the truck.

Police said the victim was pronounced dead on the spot by the responders around 10:40 a.m. and was transported to BVL Funeral Home Service in Caloocan.

Operatives of the MPD and Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) are still investigating the incident.
